With advancing age the eyelid skin thins out, which may cause the small blood vessels to show up giving the lower eyelids a darker appearance. It's also possible that thin eyelids can be inherited, therefore, so are the darker circles. Swollen lower eyelids can cast shadow giving the dark appearance to the eyelids.
Available Procedures
Dark Circles under the eyes are treated using SkinTyte by Sciton, Photorejuvenation, Erbium Laser Resurfacing, and/or utilization of a vascular laser depending upon the reason for dark circles. There can be one to several treatments for this condition in order to optimize results. Proper skincare products can also diminish dark circles and improve the skin's texture. Baggy Eyelids
The skin under the eyes has a flat and gently tense tone when we are young. Age and other factors can let the muscles and skin sag, and fat bulge. It is a very common condition seen with:
- normal aging
- sun-damaged skin
- ack of sleep
- obesity
The eyes are surrounded by protecting fat. The facial eyelid muscles and skin hold this retro-orbital fat in place resulting in a youthful line starting from the eyelashes to the cheek. Gravity and the wear of time can make all facial tissues sag.
Under eye bags begin to appear from the gentle pressure on this lax muscle, ligament, and skin wall. In some cases there is extra fat behind the support wall creating the baggy eyelids. Sometimes there is a relaxed extra skin causing the eye bags. At other times the lid muscles are just thickened. Upper eyelid bags can be the result of drooping eyebrows.
Accure Vein and Laser Center utilizes procedures such as the MicroLaser Peel, SkinTyte Light Therapy, Therascan Laser, and advanced cosmeceuticals to successfully treat this condition. If the bags are rather big, it will need surgical correction
